A quick video taken halfway through my last major revamp of the Abrams, no action videos yet but cosmetically it’s complete (still gotta sort gearboxes). I made this video to show the turret rotation rate, which is about 11.5 sec per revolution. Turret has been lowered slightly because it sat too high in stock form. Video of my 1/12 scale M1A2 abrams project, initial testing of the 12v relay-system. The non-S&S Heng Long circuit board triggers the relays, relays switch 12v to each motor – so the board runs on it’s normal 7.2v while the motors run on 12v sealed lead-acid battery – giving longer running times. Currently using HL transmitter & 7.2v instead of 9.6v, suprisingly no loss of speed and MUCH easier to control. 12volts will add more speed, better utilising the 2-speed (7.2v-12v). Now using HL transmitter and 7.2v instead of 9.6v, suprisingly no loss of speed and MUCH easier to control. Also 2-speed instead of single. Next mods are getting rid of the crappy rubber tracks (tight, horrible binding things which slow the tank considerably) and using HL Tiger tracks and sprocket.
