Video of my 1/12 scale M1A2 abrams project, initial testing of the 12v relay-system. The non-S&S Heng Long circuit board triggers the relays, relays switch 12v to each motor – so the board runs on it’s normal 7.2v while the motors run on 12v sealed lead-acid battery – giving longer running times. Currently using HL transmitter & 7.2v instead of 9.6v, suprisingly no loss of speed and MUCH easier to control. 12volts will add more speed, better utilising the 2-speed (7.2v-12v). I own both Tamiya and Hen Long. I can tell you that if you have the cash then the Tamiya kits are worth it. BUT, for the price you can’t go wrong with the Hen Long. Hen Longs are great out of box and as scratch building projects. Tons of fun. The electrics can be hit or miss at times but they are really cheap to replace.

I can say I own just about every brand of tank (except VStank and Marui, too small and gimmicky) – and you just cant beat the cheap tanks for price/features.

henlonge elect+Tmarui(tamiya if affordable)=great RC armour

Really, for the money – with Heng Long you get a whole lot of tank for not many dollars, more features (smoke, shoots BBs) and ready to run right out of the box (compared to Tamiya), bonus is they cost 6-12x less than a Tamiya…
