well, its a tank…the main part of the project was the system as a whole and the systems and controls, the mechanical part we purchased as an RC tank. the tank when we bought it was that slow. and noisy. ridiculously noisy.

well, youre right, it is a tank but tanks arent slow. they have to be fast. like the m1 abrams tank…

cool, I had to do much the same thing for my final year robotics project. But we had to score a goal after driving through a maze. Tanks shooting ballons is much better.

we didn’t have the time to make it fast. we spent most of the time developing the hardware and software to power and steer the tank, as well its targeting algorithms. furthermore, the tank is based on an RC tank, and was not easily modular to swap out motors or gearing to make it faster. but mostly the former reason, it just wasn’t the priority of the project.
